Valerie has spent more than 30 years in civil litigation, which means she’s been solving legal problems since fax machines were considered cutting-edge technology. During that time, she’s worked on everything from personal injury and insurance defense to bankruptcy litigation, professional malpractice, wrongful death, and virtually every variety of civil dispute that eventually results in someone saying, “Can you help me find that pleading?” The answer is almost always yes.
She has managed complex litigation files from beginning to end, prepared pleadings, coordinated discovery, reviewed medical records, communicated with clients, experts, courts, and opposing counsel, and somehow kept hundreds of moving pieces headed in the same direction. It’s equal parts legal knowledge, organization, diplomacy, and controlled stubbornness.
Valerie has worked with attorneys across Idaho and Oregon throughout her career and has seen litigation evolve from overflowing paper files and courier deliveries to electronic filing and cloud-based case management. Technology has changed. Discovery deadlines, however, remain stubbornly committed to arriving exactly when you’d rather they didn’t.
Over the course of her career, Valerie has successfully coordinated attorneys, clients, experts, court personnel, opposing counsel, and the occasional feral cat. She’ll let you decide which group is the most unpredictable. Her attorneys have requested that she not answer that question.
When she finally steps away from the office, Valerie enjoys trading the high-demand world of litigation for the quiet luxury of peaceful, unstructured free time.
